After starting my own business in August 2007 I joined the FSB. My feeling was that there is strength in numbers and it also meant I could increase my networking opportunities with other FSB members.

Having given a presentation to the Rotary Club in Pulaski, Tennessee I was invited by one of their members to visit his Lithograph Printing and Newspaper companies.

Gave a personal testimonial of my good experience of Belfast Institute to an audience of seventy-five made up of further education college tutors, secondary school teachers and local MP’s.

I was one of two Northern Ireland students chosen to attend an International Conference of college students and teachers.

Induction Programme (NI) | June 98
On my return from my exchange college placement I was invited along and participated in an Induction Programme offered to all successful applicants onto the programme to talk about my experiences and offer advice for their upcoming placements.

Honorary Citizenship of Pulaski, Tennessee, America | Apr 98
I was bestowed Honorary Citizenship by local Government while I was living in Pulaski Tennessee for nine months during my exchange college placement.


Exchange Student Placement at an American University | Sept 97 – May 98
I gained a position on the “Business Education Initiative Programme” where I got the opportunity to study at an American University Martin Methodist College, Pulaski, TN, USA for nine months learning about American business, leadership and my own country as living so far away from home gave me perspective.
